Winners of Uckfield garden contest receive awards
Winners of a garden competition held in Uckfield were presented with awards on Saturday.
The competition was organised as part of the Brighter Uckfield Campaign by Uckfield Town Council.
Thirteen out of 15 categories were entered and winners of each category received a cup from Uckfield Mayor, Cllr John Carvey.
Non-commercial winners also received a garden nursery voucher worth £25 and a pair of gardening gloves supplied by the local Fairtrade organisation.
Winners are:
- Front garden: Paula Horton, New Road
- Back garden: Dee Russell, Harland Villas
- Container: Mr and Mrs Jameson, New Road
- Hanging basket: Nick Baldwin Scarletts Close
- Vegetable plot: Bridget Sanger, Pipers Field
- Patio: Sharon Firth, Selby Road
- School: Rocks Park County Primary
- Church: United reformed
- Restaurant: Rajdutt, Eastbourne Road
- Communal: Grants Hill House
- Environmental/Community: Selby Meadows, Selby Road
- Bank: NatWest
- Pub: Cock and Bull
The Horticultural Society, U3A, Go-getters and Allotment Holders helped with the judging.
