Uckfield lights raise funds for Georgia

Christmas lights decorating a house in Manor Way, Uckfield, are helping to raise funds to pay for treatment for a nine-year-old girls's rare disease.

Earlier this year Rebecca Brooks-Weir did a parachute jump to raise funds for her daughter, Georgia Allen, and for a charity which helps other suffers of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. The illness is incurable and progressive affecting nerves and muscles.

Now Steve and Val West are contributing, through their lights display to Georgia's treatments. Equipment needed ranges from leg braces and scoliosis braces to a specialist trike.

Rebecca said she was very grateful for their help and added: "Georgia is unable to ride a standard bike but was recently fitted for a trike. It was amazing to see her able to pedal. She was so proud of herself as was I. This will help her muscle wastage which is now progressing to above the knee."

Georgia is pictured below with Val West and Christmas lights twinkling in the background.
