Lots of shopping to be done for Minnie, Julie's new puppy

Lots of shopping to be done for Minnie, Julie's new puppy

We have a new addition to the Brice family a little teacup Yorkshire Terrier called “Minnie", writes the Uckfield News Personal Shopper Julie Brice.

The girls and I have been trying to persuade Daddy to let us have one for ages and he has finally given in. Minnie is pictured here with me.

We have had a lovely time buying her lots of new toys etc and anyone who knows us won’t be surprised to hear that they are all pink!

I got her cage in Bell Walk Pet Supplies and she sleeps in it at night.

Justine Dunsmore and Julia Elsmore there have both done a pet nutrition counselling course and were very helpful when it came to advising us on the food Minnie needed.  We were given samples of some complete foods to try and treats to help with house training.

I went to Soleman to get Minnie’s pet tag and he recommended I had a look at his online engraving service where I had two tags engraved in anticipation of taking her out.

I don’t know about anyone else but we all thoroughly enjoyed the snow!

After the December taster we were all well equipped, Lottie had her new snow set and Daisy her new jacket from PipeDreams. I did also get Daisy some salopettes in the sale after the second lot of snow as she had worn the waterproofing off of her waterproof trousers!

We already had our sledge from three years ago, but I was in fear of my life when someone looked at me menacingly demanding to know where I had got it from when all of the shops were sold out!

I heard a statistic on TV that over 27,000 sledges were sold online during the snow. Mine became a makeshift pushchair, Lottie being quite happy to be pulled everywhere!

I decided I would be ready and waiting for the next lot of snow and bought the toastiest warm pair of snow bootsand was really disappointed when the snow went and I had to stop wearing them!

Valentines Day is on the way and lots of the shops already have very red hearty themes. I have been into the British Heart Foundation shop that has a ‘Be a part of red for heart campaign' and I have posted a message for each of the girls in the window, see if you can spot them.

Eastern Pride are running an offer which is irresistible to us, up to 25% off of their takeaway menu every day of the week and this is running until March 31.

The Dragon Inn has 10% off their takeaway collections over £10 from Sunday - Thursday.

Pepper Dining are under new management and will be closed for 2-3 days during February for a nip/tuck, takeaways will still be available throughout.

For more ideas on where to eat out we have a list of restaurants in the Uckfield Directory on this website.

I don’t know if anyone can tell from my photo but I have had a new haircut, a bit of a change. Sam at Claire Davies Hairdressing cut off a few inches! There's a special offer there in February which invites you to introduce your partner to receive 20% off of your cut and finish and they will get 10% off of theirs, a good opportunity to encourage a change of style if you have always wanted to!

Also worth a visit for a hairdressing treat are the Cowburn Cutting Company at the top of the High Street and T J's Barbers in Church Street.

Now nicely settled into their new premises The Beauty Spot has some February offers. For £60, a saving of £40, eyelash extensions and a spray tan and if you purchase a course of Caci - non-surgical face lifts - you will get your first maintenance treatment free.

The Flower Shop have in some lovely white single long stem rose boxes for a Valentines gift with a difference. These come in at £9.50 including the rose, I would really like one of these ... We will see if that falls on deaf ears!

Ryan’s bakery will be selling their Valentines cup cakes again including the ‘Bling Ring’, cup cake with edible white chocolate ring and for those HOT lovers, chilli and chocolate cakes.

Footcraft have a new engraving and gold foiling service now available on glass or leather, ideal for wallets and photo albums etc.

Sweet at the top of town are eagerly awaiting their Valentines stock and have a LOVEHEART milkshake for us all to try.

Fross is offering a complimentary bottle of wine and box of chocolates with every purchase of a full price evening or bridal gown during February.

Corbins will be carrying a good selection of Valentines gifts or how about a really romantic gesture, order an extra special lunch hamper and have an impromptu picnic.

Chameleon have a Valentine’s sunbed offer, one hour for £15 and £12.50 for a spray tan. If you have an extra special date to prepare for they already have all of their new stock in.

Elsewhere in town Yes Please Mummy on Church Street have new stock coming in daily and will soon be stocking school uniform too.

Kids Stuff still have their sale running but have some new lines in too, for the boy’s stunt riderz and a new range of Gormiti and for the girls, teeny little families, strawberry shortcake and twilight ponies.

See you next month - I'll let you know how Minnie is settling in then.
