Plenty for shoppers to celebrate in Uckfield High Street

There's more for Uckfield shoppers to celebrate the month with the news that a boutique is to open in the empty High Street premises formerly used by Procter Health Care.

Kay Bevan, owner of Tres Joli, is opening the boutique and a solarium above it at number 73, which is set back between the Post Office and Uckfield Electrics, and a step away from Hartfield’s Produce.

Customers have the chance to browse ranges in comfort, while sipping coffee, and different floorings have been incorporated underfoot in his showroom.

Prices of carpets and underlay take into account the cost of accessories, moving furniture and fitting the carpets. There are no hidden extras to be added to the package.

“Our aim is to keep it simple and provide a quality service so people will come back to us and be happy to recommend us,” said Sebastian. Fluffy Side Up also offers a carpet cleaning service.

Peaches are recommended at Hartfields

At the recently opened Hartfields Produce Store, the owner James Hartfield is delighted with the way business is going.

He said the variety of fruit and vegetables changes regularly and peaches are particularly good at the moment. Local beans are in now too.

He added olives are selling well as are products from the Weald Smokery, such as salami, ham, salmon and kippers. “The flavour is amazing,” he said.

Another new business at the Market Hall is Books and Bobs. Owner Andy Coppins is pleased by the warm welcome he has received.

Meanwhile Sew n Sew & Haberdashery is settling in to new, much bigger, premises there.
