Archie Andrews back on stage

Archie Andrews is back on stage – thanks to a couple with links to the Uckfield area. Ventriloquist Peter Brough and his dummy, Archie Andrews, were huge stars on radio and TV in the 1950s.

The dummy was bought by Colin Burnett-Dick in 2005. Now he and his wife, Pauline – for many years a committee member of Uckfield Allotment Holders and Cottage Gardeners Association – have loaned Archie Andrews to Steve Hewlett who is entertaining audiences this summer at the end-of-the-pier show in Cromer, north Norfolk.
