Work at McDonald's, Uckfield
Only the drive through at McDonald's on the Bellbrook Estate, Uckfield, will be open today and during the next three weeks as work is under way to revamp the restaurant.
The fast food chain was given planning permission in January last year to make changes and give the restaurant an 'Al Fresco' look.
Planning documents at the time said the aim was to adopt a ‘fresher more contemporary facade’.
The roof would be retiled and lighting boxes removed, signage replaced and the building altered while remaining the same size.
Drive through signage and a height restrictor bar would be removed and replaced with timber effect signs and height restrictor bar and the patio area would be refurbished.
Wealden Council refused one of proposals for a free-standing monument sign, more than five metres tall.
Uckfield News.com carried a story on Thursday, January 15, 2009, about permission being granted for the changes.
