Thousands of spring bulbs planted in Uckfield

Thousands of spring bulbs planted in Uckfield

About 5,000 crocus and daffodil bulbs were planted in Uckfield at the weekend.

Councillors and members of the Brighter Uckfield Campaign worked in Bell Farm Road, Southview Drive and London Road.

There are more bulbs to be planted in Library Way and River Way.

Cllr Dorothy Sparks said: "There is not a lot to see at the moment other than a lot of disturbed soil, but come the spring there will be a wonderful carpet of crocuses and daffodils and all the hard work will be worth it."

Cllr Sparks was disappointed that more people didn't turn out to help but said those that were there did a great job. "The majority were from the Brighter Uckfield Campaign together with five Uckfield councillors," she said.
