Uckfield Lions raise more than £1,500 at car rally
Vintage, veteran, classic and some family cars took part in the Uckfield Lions Club car rally yesterday, Sunday, September 25.
There were 57 entries and more than £1,500 was raised for charity.
The rally began at the Halfway House, Isfield, and followed a 50 mile route through country lanes taking in Uckfield, Shortbridge, Newick, Chailey, Wivelsfield, Haywards Heath, Lindfield, Borde Hill, Ardingly, Turners Hill, Sharpthorne, Wych Cross, Nutley, Piltdown and Isfield.
Once back at the Halfway House, which is run by Mel and Rowan Palmer, 144 people enjoyed lunch prepared by Lions Club members and including a pig roast.
The money is to go towards a new driving carriage capable of being driven by wheelchair bound participants at Herons Ghyll Carriage Driving for the Disabled Group.
Thanks to the Lions Club and Ron Hill who sent us photographs taken during the event.
