Nearly £1,900 raised for Cancer Research at Uckfield dance show
Nearly £1,900 was raised for charity at a dance show in Uckfield on Saturday.
The show was organised by Universal Dance and included performances of contemporary and street dance, cheerleading and live music.
Those taking part included those attending classes - youth and adult - run by the dance company. Each student raised their own sponsorship.
About 300 people were in the audience and all the money raised - including a donation of ticket sales made by Universal Dance - will go to Cancer Research.
There were about 120 performers aged from five to 27 years and while 'Global' the Universal Dance Graduate Performance Company opened and closed the show other dancers involved came from Harlands, Bonners and Wallands Primary Schools, Lewes Old Grammar School, Uckfield Community Technology College and a variety of independent Universal Dance classes held in Maresfield, Uckfield and Lewes.
An arrangement of songs was also performed live by the band The Soul Destroyers.
For more information about Universal Dance see their entry in our Uckfield Directory.
Thanks to Ron Hill for pictures taken at the show.
