Uckfield Scouts Fiesta Day beat the weather

Uckfield Scouts Fiesta Day beat the weather

The 4th Uckfield Scout Group held its Fiesta Day on Saturday at the Luxford Field.

Crowds turned out despite the intermittent rain for the fund-raising event which was opened by town mayor, John Carvey (pictured below right)./images/2011_june/mayor_opens.jpg

The 4th Uckfield Scout Band started the arena events, followed by Kicks Karate and a Zumba demonstration.

The two Scout troops battled it out in an ‘A’ frame chariot race and a traditional tug-of-war was held.

The afternoon was rounded off with the ‘gunge tank’ and this year the "victims" (pictured below) were Scout Leaders Jay Dode and Phillip Jenkins followed by Headteacher of Holy Cross Primary School, Justin Heath (centre in the photograph below and also pictured at the top of the page being gunged),

Thanks to Ron Hill for the photographs.
