East Hoathly rector stays smiling as he is gunged at church fete
Pink gunge was tipped over the head of the rector of East Hoathly and Chiddingly churches at the weekend to boost fund-raising at a church fete.
The collection to get the Rev Phil Hodgins gunged reached £650 and the total raised at the fete overall was about £2,500.
Phil celebrates 25 years as a priest this weekend.
Thanks to Jim Holden for the pictures which show the rector smiling stoically as Elly Mckay-Smith helps with the gunge while sympathetic onlookers give a round of applause.
