Uckfield Lions' car rally helps Herons Ghyll disabled group
Uckfield Lions Club presented a cheque for £1,582 on Saturday to Herons Ghyll Disabled Carriage Driving Group. The money was the profit from this year’s classic car run and included a donation from Brighton Lions to assist in their purchase of a new wheelchair accessible carriage.
The car run this year was the most successful yet with a total of 57 cars participating on a beautiful route through East and West Sussex culminating in a pig roast lunch by permission of Mel and Rowan Palmer at the Half Way House Pub, Isfield.
The cheque was handed to Karen Tritton, chairman of the Herons Ghyll group. Attending the presentation were Karen Tritton, Paul Mouland, Val Richardson from the Herons Ghyll Group and Bob and Margaret Eaves, Angela Wilson and Peter Martin, Chris and Maureen Macve from the Uckfield Lions and Mel and Rowan Palmer from the Half Way House Public House.
