90 in Uckfield 10k
More than 90 runners took part in the first Uckfield Lions 10K Fun Run event which started at Uckfield Rugby Club.
The racing began with the children's run of 2km. Andrea Lobley and Tom Crees were the only runners but both ran strongly and completed the 2km with ease.
The main 10K followed and after two laps of the rugby field the runners raced through Buxted Park before returning to the rugby club for the finish.
The first three finishers and their times were: Ludo Goodliffe from Uckfield in 36m 35s, Lee Ashworth from Eastbourne in 36m 52s and Russell Shingles from Eastbourne in 37m 19s.
The first three women finishers and their times were: Charlotte Neal from Westham in 43m 27s, Rosemary Ferguson from Beckenham in 44m 47s and Karon Deivall from Lewes in 48m 50s.
The event was part of the town’s festival.
