Maresfield play area re-opens after £100,000 investment
About £100,000 has been invested in redeveloping a play area at Maresfield which was officially re-opened on Saturday.
The Parklands Residents' Association secured the grant to carry out the work at the Parklands community play area.
It includes a multi-use games/kickabout area, a BMX bike track, planting and more seats.
The design was drawn up by award-winning landscape architects Adam White and Andree Davis of Davis White Design following consultation.
The residents' association applied for a grant to the Changing Spaces programme following feedback which included requests for more equipment for younger children and places for parents to sit down and relax while children played.
The association worked with Community Spaces, which is managed by Groundwork UK and funded by the Big Lottery Fund, Wealden District Council, Maresfield Parish Council, Sussex Police, The Veolia Environmental Trust and other funding bodies and stake holders.
