More than 500 children take part in Uckfield road safety day
More than 500 children attended a road safety day held at Luxford Field, Uckfield, last week.
Eleven schools were involved including Buxted, Holy Cross, Rocks Park, Manor, Harlands, St Philip's, Little Horsted, Blackboys, Bonners at Maresfield, Nutley and High Hurstwood.
There were 92 prizewinners in a road safety poster competition. They were divided into 47 first and 45 second places.
The event was co-ordinated by Uckfield town councillor Jim Molesworth-Edwards.
Thanks to Ron Hill for the pictures which include one of East Sussex County Council chairman Cllr Chris Dowling opening the event, PCSO Katie Breeds on board a mini-bike, Sussex electric motorcycle designer Phil Edwards with his UK record-breaking dragster and Holy Cross rector, the Rev Brian Wilcox on board a steam engine and children taking part in one of the events.
