Manor Primary School, Uckfield, gets new soft play area
Manor Primary School children in Uckfield have got a new soft play area which was donated by the Uckfield Rugby Football Club Founding Fathers.
The school and club have many shared links with pupils playing rugby and the club sponsoring an award in memory of a teaching assistant who was one of their members.
The Dave Morgan Award for Effort, Enthusiasm and Endeavour was introduced in 2006 and is presented every year to a child who has demonstrated these qualities throughout their school career.
Head teacher, Margaret Coleman, said “We are very proud of our links with the local groups and particularly with the rugby club. Our new soft play facility is yet another example of how local groups can work together to bring about the very best of opportunities for children in our community. All the children at Manor sincerely thank the Founding Fathers for this wonderful new facility.”
In our picture, taken by Ron Hill, Liz Randall receives a cheque from Founding Fathers' chairman Jerry Miller. Also there are Chris Eastwood, Peter Jordon and Roger Hazel.
